Set up your wireless adapter in about 2 minutes. You only do this once. After that, your phone connects on its own every time you start the car.
- Unplug your phone cableDisconnect the USB cable you normally use for CarPlay or Android Auto.
- Plug in the adapterPlug the adapter into the same USB port (USB-A or USB-C). Wait a few seconds for it to power on.
- Pair with BluetoothOn your phone, open Bluetooth settings and select the adapter from the list. Accept the pairing request on your phone and on your car's screen if it asks.
- Allow the connectionYour phone may ask to use CarPlay or Android Auto wirelessly. Tap Allow or Use CarPlay. CarPlay or Android Auto will then open on your car's screen.
- DoneLeave the adapter plugged in. Next time you start the car, your phone connects on its own, even from your pocket.
Troubleshooting
The adapter doesn't show up in Bluetooth
Unplug the adapter, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. Make sure the car is on and that you're using the USB port that works with CarPlay or Android Auto (some cars have charge-only ports).
It paired but CarPlay or Android Auto doesn't open
- iPhone: go to Settings › General › CarPlay, tap your car and make sure CarPlay is allowed.
- Android: open Android Auto settings and make sure it's enabled and up to date.
- Check that Wi-Fi is turned on. The adapter uses Bluetooth to pair and Wi-Fi to stream.
It worked before but stopped connecting
On your phone, forget the adapter in Bluetooth settings (and in CarPlay settings on iPhone). Unplug and replug the adapter, then pair again from step 3.
There's a short delay when the car starts
That's normal. Wireless takes a few seconds longer than a cable to connect after you start the car.
Does my phone charge while connected?
No. The adapter connects wirelessly, so use a car charger or charging pad on long drives.
